Covid-19 Update – 17th May

Covid-19 Update – 17th May

Following confirmation that England will enter the next stage of lockdown easing from Monday 17th May, we are pleased to confirm the following changes which apply to funerals.

With effect from Monday 17th May, we are able to offer face to face appointments indoors, either at our offices or at client’s homes. We will still observe social distancing, wear a mask, use hand sanitiser and open a window or door for ventilation where possible.

Whilst the limit on the number of mourners attending a funeral ends on 17th May, social distancing must still be observed within the venue, which means that smaller venues, including crematoria chapels, will still have limits in place on the number of mourners.

Larger churches will be able to accommodate higher numbers of mourners, but as this will vary between churches, please contact us to confirm the attendee limit at your chosen venue.

Should you have any queries or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us to discuss further.

The guidelines from each Crematorium in our area are as follows:

Weston Mill Crematorium, Plymouth – 25 mourners.
Efford Crematorium, Plymouth – 20 mourners.
Glynn Valley Crematorium – 30 mourners.
Torquay Crematorium – 20 mourners.
Exeter Crematorium – 21 mourners (St. Paul’s), 50 mourners (St. Peter’s).
East Devon Crematorium – 35 mourners.
