National Day of Reflection

Today marks one year since the start of the first Covid-19 lockdown.

It’s hard to believe what the last year has brought to us all, from isolation & restrictions, to lockdowns and grief, each individual journey has been difficult, has required serious adjustment, and resulted in us having to get used to a new, yet thankfully, temporary ‘normal’.

Thanks to the efforts of Marie Curie, the 23rd March 2021 is the ‘National Day of Reflection’. An opportunity for us to come together to show support, acknowledge those who have worked tirelessly throughout this pandemic, and to remember and honour all of those lives lost, and the families who have been affected by grief throughout such difficult circumstances.

Marie Curie are asking you observe a minute’s silence at 12 noon, and to light a candle or shine a light in your window at 8.00pm this evening, in memory of the hundreds of thousands of people who have lost their lives, and in support of the millions who have been bereaved.

We’ve lived through some dark times together, but as the light grows brighter, we promise to continue to be there to support and guide you through.
