NewsCovid-19 Update – 9th SeptemberCovid-19 Update – 9th September Following yesterday’s Government announcement that gatherings of people in groups of more than 6 will be banned from Monday 14th September, we currently believe that funerals will be exempt from this, but the written Government guidance is yet to be released for us to check.For the moment, we assume that the following limits on attendance will still apply, but as soon as we hear anything further, we will let you know.Both family and friends are now permitted to attend a funeral, providing attendance is kept within the maximum number permitted at the venue.You may be asked by the venue to provide your contact details when attending a funeral for Track and Trace purposes.The guidelines from each Crematorium are as follows:Weston Mill Crematorium, Plymouth – 16 mourners, sat in alternate pews. Efford Crematorium, Plymouth – 12 mourners, sat in alternate pews. Glynn Valley Crematorium – 16 mourners seated inside, with an additional 14 mourners stood outside the chapel. Torquay Crematorium – 20 mourners. Exeter Crematorium – 12 mourners (St. Paul’s), 30 mourners (St. Peter’s). East Devon Crematorium – 30 mourners.Funerals held at Church/Places of Worship:As of Monday 6th July, Churches/Places of Worship are able to accommodate funeral services with a maximum of 30 attendees, as long as the current social distancing and hygiene guidelines are adhered to, therefore the restrictions will differ from venue to venue.Please do get in touch to discuss any particular Church or Place of Worship.We will keep you updated via our website and social media as soon as we have any further updates.
