The Stables, Tavistock

We strive to deliver a first class service, one which would only be acceptable to a member of our own family. We believe, maintaining this strong ethos through our staff and by training them to the highest standards of the profession, we are able to consistently deliver this service to our clients.

We acquired Tavistock and District Funeral Service in December 2010. The office is conveniently situated in West Street with car parking at the rear of the building and was originally the stable block for West End House. Our resident Funeral Director Martyn Hall and administrative staff are always available to help.

We are very proud of our premises which provide a modern, personal and professional feel with a warm welcome to those visiting our office with easy parking, level access and comfortable facilities.

In April 2025 we completed an extension which provides a reception, two chapels of rest – which can be opened to create a service chapel for up to 30 people, a state-of-the-art mortuary, garage, staff room and disabled toilet. We also refurbished the existing offices upstairs, which keeps our street level presence and includes a reception and arrangement offices.

There is one customer parking bay marked clearly to the left of our building, as well as six further spaces available by proceeding down the driveway.

At our Tavistock office we offer local direct cremation, competitively priced simple funerals and completely personalised traditional funeral services. Fully guaranteed pre-paid funeral plans are also available.
