IvybridgeNewsKeith Peacock did have his cake and eat itKeith Peacock did have his cake and eat it Keith Peacock did not want to be taken for a ride this year, instead he settled for a cup of tea and a piece of cake when he presented Erme Valley Riding for the Disabled Group with a charitable donation from the Ivybridge Office of WCP to Peggy Douglas, the Senior Instructor and Managing Director.Luckily I planned my visit to coincide with the tea and cake break !! he joked.Peggy told him the story of how she originally started the stables but moved to the current site 16 years ago. Their aim, as an incredible team, is to give disabled people of all ages the opportunity to enjoy some time around horses, riding horses and even competing in National Events. They provide around 4000 rides per year to some 180 disabled people.Above the horses they also provide training and lessons to aid independent living for their riders.I had a lovely time and look forward to returning, next time with a big bag of carrots!
