Funerals are continuing to be impacted by the social distancing guidelines from Public Health England.

The guidelines currently offered by the government on who should attend funerals are as follows:

  • Members of the person’s household
  •  Close Family Members
  • Or if the above are unable to attend, close friends

The guidelines from each Crematorium are as follows:

Weston Mill & Efford Crematoria, Plymouth – 10 mourners, sat in alternate pews.

Glynn Valley Crematorium – 10 mourners.

Torquay Crematorium – 16 mourners.

Exeter Crematorium – 10 mourners (St. Paul’s), 20 mourners (St. Peter’s).

East Devon Crematorium – 20 mourners.

Funerals held at Church/Places of Worship:

As of Monday 15th June, Churches/Places of Worship are able to accommodate funeral services, as long as the current social distancing and hygiene guidelines are adhered to, therefore the restrictions will differ from venue to venue.

Please do get in touch to discuss any particular Church or Place of Worship.

If a mourner, as defined above, is travelling to attend a funeral and requires Proof of Essential Travel, please do not hesitate to contact us and we will be pleased to provide you with proof on our headed paper.

We will keep you updated via our website and social media as soon as we have any further updates.
