Driver/Bearer – Plymouth

£8.30/hour

Walter C. Parson is a family business started in 1842 and has remained in the family for seven generations.  We strive to deliver a first class service, one which would only be acceptable to a member of our own family.

We are seeking an individual to join our team of Driver/Bearers.  This role will be primarily based at our Plympton Office but may also cover Funerals in Devon and South East Cornwall.  Due to the nature of our work we need a team that are flexible in working hours and location.  This role is being offered on a casual basis with there being greater demand at certain times of the year.  The position will provide a great opportunity to explore a new career in Funeral Services, or may suit someone looking for a few hours with no guaranteed commitment or additional hours to supplement another income.

Please note that whilst mechanical means are used as much as possible there are occasions where lifting and carrying heavy weights are part of the role.  Manual handling training is provided and the company takes their responsibility seriously; however, applicants must be able to carry out the full duties of the role.

Our ideal person will be well presented, have excellent customer service, good manners and won’t mind being outside in all weathers.  A full clean driving licence is also a must and living within Plymouth or the surrounding areas would be preferable.
