NewsThe Park, Plymouth City Council’s new crematoriumThe Park, Plymouth City Council’s new crematorium Over the past few days, our team members have been visiting The Park, Plymouth City Council’s new crematorium, located at Merafield Road, Plympton.We were all very impressed with the modern, bright, comfortable facilities which are a huge step forward for bereaved families in Plymouth.There are three ceremony rooms, accommodating 120, 80 and 12 mourners.The Park will open for funerals on Monday 12th August 2024.Efford Crematorium has now stopped taking bookings and will close on Friday 9th August.Whilst Weston Mill Crematorium remains open for now, all cremations will take place at The Park going forward and we will confirm the closure date for Weston Mill in due course.Burials will remain available at both Efford and Weston Mill.The full address of The Park is: 205 Merafield Road, Plympton, Plymouth, PL7 1UQ.Once you enter the grounds, please follow the relevant directions:For Ceremony Room 1 After entering The Park, you will drive past the public café and function rooms on the left with their own car park. You will need to follow the drive down to the next left and this is the car park for Ceremony Room 1. Once parked please walk across the bridge to Waiting Room 1.For Ceremony Rooms 2 and 3 After entering The Park, you will drive past the public café and function rooms on the left with their own car park. You will need to continue along the drive as it sweeps in front of the main crematorium building until you reach a car park that is allocated for Ceremony Rooms 2 and 3. The Waiting Room is signposted adjacent to the car park.Reception After entering The Park, you will drive past the public café and function rooms on the left with their own car park. You will need to continue along the drive as it sweeps in front of the main crematorium building until you reach a car park that is allocated for Ceremony Rooms 2 and 3 and also Reception. Reception is accessed through the double doors on the far-right hand side of the building.Public café and Function Rooms After entering The Park, the public café and function rooms are located in the first building on the left. This building has its own car park for patrons on this facility.
